Free and New Registered Dietitian exam Sample Questions 2013-14

After getting good response on Nursing Entrance Exam Sample Questions in my other blog from my blog readers I want to write this blog for passing Registered Dietitian exam I am adding this exam in this health blog because Dietitian jobs are related to health.

 What is Registered Dietitian exam?

A career as a Registered Dietitian certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you like the idea of helping people stay health and fit, while being paid a good salary, then it might just be the career for you. Of course, it takes a strong education in the subject matter, and

serious professional training in order to qualify. You’ll need to earn a college degree in a nutrition based major, complete a six to twelve month supervised practice program, and pass a rigorous test given by the American Dietetic Association.

What Registered Dietitian does?

Jobs and job descriptions vary widely, of course. Some nutritionists are self-employed, opening their own practice. They may choose to specialize in one area of nutrition and health, such as working with people who are seriously overweight to design a more health supporting diet. Another popular area to focus in is helping people with diabetes design and implement menu plans that are both delicious and safe, and which feature a wide variety of foods. Others who are self-employed work as consultants for companies and organizations that aren’t large enough to justify hiring a full time dietitian.

Where to get Jobs?

Most dietitians work for large organizations such as nursing homes, schools, hospitals, jails, prisons, colleges and universities, state and local health departments, etc. Some larger for-profit corporations also employ full time dietitians. In these jobs, the main duties are creating menus that are varied and healthy, locating suppliers of healthy foods, observing, inspecting and occasionally taking part in food preparation to ensure that all health and safety measure are being followed. In almost all states, a person must be licensed, certified or registered in order to work as a dietitian.

Future prospects also look good, as America’s population keeps growing, and, particularly, as the elderly population grow by leaps and bounds. Another factor that will drive demand for professional dietitians is America’s growing obesity crisis. Obesity is one of the biggest drivers of serious health problems, especially Type 2 diabetes. Experts are predicting that if things don’t change, in a few short years, one in three adults in America will be diabetic. Since diabetics are a huge part of the client base for nutritionists, this bad news turns out to be good news for dietitian job growth.

Dietitian Test Breakdown

The chief criteria for becoming a registered dietician are a baccalaureate degree in an institution accredited by the American Dietetic Association, compliance with recertification requirements, and passage of the Registration Exam for Dietitians.

The Registration Exam for Dietitians is a computerized test that is targeted toward the entry-level dietary position. The test requires knowledge in several areas common to the professional registered dietician. The test focuses upon broad areas of individual impact in food and nutrition; clinical treatment; education and research; and administration of state and community nutritional programs.
Broadest of these categories is Nutrition Care Process and Model, both Simple and Complex Conditions, which accounts for 40% of the test questions. The next greatest component of the exam is the Management content area (21% of the exam), followed by Foodservice Systems (17%), Food and Nutrition Sciences (12%), and Counseling, Communication, Education, and Research (10%).
